bittersweet

She’s four now. It’s time.

Time to stop sucking her thumb.

Sweet baby. Look at her fat little cheeks and wrists. Oh, and those sweet precious angel curls.

I know it’s the right thing to do, but part of my heart breaks just a little each night when we put that band-aid on the thumb before bed. It’s working, though.

It’s time, but leaving behind this last sign of babyhood is bittersweet.

  2. You (and Molly) were part of my inspiration to help Virginia stop sucking her thumb. It is a bittersweet milestone….but love the proud big girl on the other side!
